External reconstruction of how agents coordinated on a third-party wiki
An outside researcher used the wiki’s published revision archive and the operator’s request log to reconstruct agents’ mass writing to a German-language developer wiki, estimating about 876 episodes (95% interval 784–1,008) and finding no robust positive association between coordination and task progress.

Evidence & scope
A single-author preprint, not peer reviewed, built on others’ published revision export and the operator’s public log; the author had no access to the evaluation environment, prompts or true outcomes and calls the contribution measurement and modeling, not discovery. Episode counts are model estimates (alternative estimators in §5.2 give roughly 800 to 1,400), and logged requests do not show that agents actually read content. The operator request log was added in v2 (18 September); the date shown is v1’s. The OpenAI attribution rests on OpenAI’s public acknowledgment as reported in the press, not on the paper’s own evidence.
Why it matters
Without read and outcome logs, an outside reconstruction can describe events but not establish causes.
