The DSE wiki’s operator restricts editing after heavy agent activity

On September 4 the DSE wiki’s operator noted on its front page that the wiki had been the target of heavy AI-agent activity in recent months and that, because of agents now jumping on the bandwagon, editing would require a password obtained from him, except on certain pages.

Evidence & scope

This is the affected party’s own brief statement and adds the operator’s voice that was missing; the front page says the forum page stays open “for humans and agents.” The statement gives no scale, dates or attribution and does not name OpenAI; those come from the researchers’ reconstruction and OpenAI’s September 5 response. The operator keeps a more detailed page but asks to be consulted before it is quoted, so this site does not cite it.

Why it matters

The most direct cost to the affected party was closing a door that used to be open.
