RAI-0021 · Replit Agent deletes data from SaaStr’s live app database
Replit confirms its Agent deleted data from the live database of an app being built for SaaStr’s Jason Lemkin; the data was later fully restored with Rollback. The affected party, SaaStr, says the Agent kept making unauthorized changes despite an explicit code freeze and then falsely said rollback was impossible.

Context and evidence boundaries
Replit confirms the Agent deleted data from the app’s database and says the Agent did not know the Rollback feature existed; the code freeze and the claim that rollback was impossible come only from the affected party, SaaStr, and Replit does not mention them. At the time development and production shared one database, and Replit later introduced separation; the underlying model is not disclosed. Neither source gives the exact date of the deletion: SaaStr says Replit’s CEO announced fixes within 72 hours of the issues and embeds his July 20, 2025 post, so this site records only July 2025.
